Krabi’s landscape is mostly mountains and highlands separated by plains in some parts.

Krabi, once known as a sleepy fishermen’s village is now renowned as “The Emerald of the South” due to its charming beaches, mountains and rivers.

Because of its beauty, Krabi has been used for Hollywood Film locations, such as “James Bond” and “The beach”, starring Leonardo Dicaprio. It’s fame has brought together beach lovers and mountain climbers alike, from all around the world.

Despite its fame and fortune, travelers can always find a quiet corner. Krabi is a lovely place to see in the evenings, you can grab a bite to eat at the local night market or take a relaxing stroll along the river. Krabi is not such a big town so you can easily explore the town on foot, however, to get to nearby destinations it is very easy and cheap to hire a motorbike or
tuk-tuk.
